Trying to cool down....

I am in sales and our company sends out a company wide announcement of the monthly winners for new business. The winner gets a $100 gift check. Today the postings of the winners came out, and the winner for our industry was the guy that I used to work with in New York. Now, he didn't actually win, it had to be a mistake. They stated that he won by closing $137K of new business, when I closed $244K of new business. My boss is handling it and trying to figure out why he won, but I wanted to win soooo badly for the following reasons: 1) I don't have an account executive and this would look REALLY good for promotion purposes. 2) I wanted Rob to be rewarded because he doesn't currently get commission 3) I didn't want the guy that I used to work with win over me when I rightfully won and he would have to see that I beat him. 4) I want an extra $100. ---- New shoes baby!!! I am having a hard time not picking up the phone... and calling the head of sales. I know that would not be a good move on my part... it is best to let my boss fight the battle for me.
